Welcome to our Year 1 Beech class! I am so excited to begin this journey with your child and to get to know each of you throughout the year. Year 1 is such a special time- it's full of curiosity, growth, and new adventures in learning. 

My name is Mrs Gooch, and I feel privileged to be your child's teacher alongside Miss Cowell, Mrs Goodyear, Miss Bonfiglio, Mrs Binns and Mrs Jo. Mrs Heatherington will be covering Year 1's PPA. 

In Year 1, we will:

-Build strong foundation in reading, writing, and maths.

-Explore the world through exciting topics, stories, and hands-on activities.

-Encourage creativity, curiosity, and independence.

-Learn how to be kind friends and supportive classmates.

I believe that children achieve their very best when school and home work closely together. Communication is key, and I look forward to building strong partnerships with all families. I will keep you updated throughout the year with information about what we are learning and ways you can support your child at home.
