To mark Safer Interet Day, Year Five focused on social media and the dangers it can pose. After a morning of games, discussion and drama, they composed poetry to summarise the events of the day. Here ares some of their super compositions ...
We had a great time watching our live link with Tim Peake inside the ISS, even if the connection was a little jumpy. Well, he is in space after all!
This week, Year 5 have been writing Free Verse poems, which focus on using openers and description rather than rhyme. The results have been outstanding, but special praise goes to Sienna for this fantastic effort.
Letting my own breath sweep me off my feet, I leave my senses behind.
Allowing the atmosphere to take me in it's path, feeling like a helpless leaf falling down a waterfall, into a beautiful blue lagoon.
Floating around, the slender cables tug at my dainty feet like snakes twisting around their unfortunate prey.
Majestically, I drift into my pod like a feather falling from the heavenly wing of a peaceful dove, slowly, slowly.
Year Five have been battling it out for the title of 'Maths Jedi'.

Hello and welcome to the Year 5 Class of 2016 page!
Myself and Mrs Whelan are busy getting to know each and every member of the class and we have already learnt so much, especially after our fun filled weekend at PGL! I hope we are going to have a great year together.
We are now three weeks into our first half term and a lot has already happened! Our topic for this half term is Princes, Peasants and Pestilence which sees us learning all about The Black Death!
Thank you so much for all your efforts with homework so far. I really think we will start to see great improvements with spellings as a result of the hard work taking place.
