Star Wars Maths
Monday 10th July
The children took part in a whole school Star Wars Maths challenge this morning. Our challenge was :-
"Darth Vader sees 18 legs on the Death Star. Who could be in the Death Star?"
The children were amazing and worked in 2's or 3's to solve the problem.
Zoo Trip
Friday 7th July
Reception had a great day at the zoo on Friday 7th July. We saw many different and fascinating animals, although I think the monkeys were our favourite. We watched the sea lions being fed, took part in a minibeast workshop and watched the bird show. We were lucky enough for great weather and ate our lunch outside.
Have a look at the slide show below.
Thrilling Thursday
22nd June 2017
Reception had a great morning hunting minibeasts with their mums and dads. We found all sorts of different insects and some huge spiders! Some parents were braver than others! We drew pictures of all the minibeasts we found and made a huge pictogram. The most popular minibeast we found were spiders, we found 18 of them. The least popular was bees, we only found 1 bee.
Wormery
As part of our work on minbeats we made a wormery. We put apple cores in the bottom of a large plastic box and placed newspaper on top. Then we added layers of sand and soil. Finally we set off to look for worms.
