To build upon the learning children are currently undertaking in the classroom, we have compiled a menu of activities that aim to motivate the children's curiousity about some of the current topics being investigated and build upon their knowledge, skills and understanding. These activities shall be added to over the next couple of weeks however, as several are project-based, the children can, with support of parents, direct their own learning. Pobble 365 is a fun way to inspire your children’s creative writing. Every day, a new thought-provoking image appears on the website, along with a few lines of a ‘story starter’ and a drawing activity.
KID NORMAL
Greg James and Chris Smith are authors of the Kid Normal book series, an four-part adventure about a superhero kid… with no powers! Watch their video guide to making up your own superhero story, then try the activities below. You can also download a free audio version of Kid Normal. It’s not that easy to travel at the moment but we are thinking about people all over the world. Why not read your way around the world with the Reading Miles Global Challenge.
Collect 500 reading miles for every 10 minutes you spend reading, either alone or with a parent, carer, or your brother or sister. You could even video call your relatives and read aloud to them. Collect reading miles in a special reading passport on your very own reading world tour - a whopping 33,000 miles (or 11 hours) in total!
The challenge is split into seven journeys, each of which finishes in a ‘checkpoint city’.

SCIENCE
STEM have launched their free home-learning resources and have employed astronaut Tim Peake to blast it off. Check out the first two science-led activity menus below. Mr Aaron shall upload two menus every Monday morning.
